The Verona Arena, originally designed to accommodate 30,000 spectators, now hosts around 20,000 attendees in total. However, during opera events, seating is arranged to accommodate between 13,000 to 15,000 individuals.
The Poltronissima as well as central sections of the Verona Arena offer optimal acoustics. These areas provide a closer proximity to the stage, allowing for a more direct and immersive auditory experience during performances.
Unfortunately, the Verona Arena is known for its open-air opera, and only offers open-air seating. But since the opera performances happen at night, you don’t have to worry about protection from the sun. In fact, it’s a rather beautiful experience to watch opera under the stars, so make the most of it!
Of course! Subject to availability, you can upgrade your seats! This allows you to experience different perspectives and seating arrangements based on your preferences and budget.
Of course! But it’s still great if you can get a set of binoculars/opera glasses to see the people on the stage in close-up, especially if you're sitting right up at the top.
They are not, and you can sit anywhere in your section. Your ticket may indicate numbered seats, but when you arrive at the steps, it's mainly for organizing queues and entrances. Inside, everyone sits on the steps in their section, and monitors might ask you to shift to make space for others with numbered tickets. There are no actual numbers labeled on the steps.
You're requested to dress appropriately out of respect for the monument. Smart casual attire is suitable for the Verona Arena. The aim is to look neat and put-together without being overly formal. You can wear trousers or a long skirt for added comfort.
Toilets are available only at ground level, accessible in the evenings to those with the priciest reserved seats. If you're seated higher on the stone steps, you'll need to exit to use temporary toilets on nearby streets, with Section F being the closest option. Since the Arena will be crowded, remember to take tissues with you, since it can be hard to find loo paper a few minutes into the event.
